Sustainability Policy
We at UngerskMat.se strongly care about sustainability issues and strive to ensure that all of our business operations are carried out in the most sustainable way possible based on environmental, health and social aspects. Therefore, we have developed a Sustainability policy which clarifies our existing work with sustainability but also to constantly develop and improve our work.
Environmental responsibility
We take our environmental responsibility, among other things, by running our office premises with 100% electricity from our own solar cells. Our own net production of electricity corresponds to all our electricity consumption for a year.
We try to use packaging and e-commerce boxes made from recyclable materials wherever possible. The e-commerce boxes, packaging, packing tape, etc. that we use are made of corrugated cardboard and paper to reduce the use of plastic.
In order to reduce food waste, we always reduce the prices of food items that are approaching their best-before date instead of throwing them away.
Health and social responsibility
Social sustainability is about creating fair and inclusive working conditions and ensuring human rights throughout the value chain. This includes everything from employee conditions to the impact on communities and consumers.
We believe it is important that food production is carried out in a sustainable manner and therefore look positively on trading with food and food produced within the EU. We also strongly protect the culinary heritage found in Hungarian and European food traditions. Therefore, we prioritize small, sustainable producers who follow ethical working conditions and we always try to buy part of our food from small producers who produce local goods according to traditional and sustainable methods. In this way, our products can preserve Hungarian food cultural traditions and promote diversity
Laws and regulations
We follow the work of the Swedish National Food Agency and are constantly informed about their legislation and recommendations. Please read more about this at the Swedish National Food Agency. https://www.livsmedelsverket.se/om-oss/lagstiftning1/livsmedelsverkets-arbete-i-eu
The vast majority of food laws are common throughout the EU and aim to help consumers get clear and accurate information, avoid dangerous foods and ensure that the rules are fair and easy to follow for both consumers and businesses. The EU's regulatory framework covers the entire food chain for agriculture, animal husbandry and food production. We follow the Swedish Consumer Agency's rules and recommendations within consumer law and product safety. Please read more here https://www.konsumentverket.se/
Sustainable business
Sustainability work has moved from being voluntary to becoming a central part of corporate strategies, driven in part by international agreements such as the UN Climate Convention, the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda. These frameworks aim to link economic growth to reduced environmental impact and social responsibility.
