Körözött - Ungersk Färskoströra

Körözött - Hungarian Fresh Cheese Mix

My dad Laszlo makes a delicious Hungarian cream cheese spread that is just as good on a breakfast sandwich, as a snack, or as an appetizer at a dinner party. In our family, we even serve it on Christmas Eve as a snack with the welcome drink.

We simply can't get enough!🙂

In Hungary, the mixture can be made with cream cheese made from sheep's milk. However, in this recipe we have adapted the ingredients to what is available in Sweden.

Ingredients:

  • 500 g Cottage cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 tbsp soft butter
  • 150g sheep cheese
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 pinch of salt

Do this:

Whisk together the cottage cheese, sour cream and butter. Crumble the sheep's cheese into the mixture and then mix with the finely chopped onion. Season the cream cheese mixture with paprika, cumin and salt to taste. Dust with a thin layer of paprika before serving.

Serve on a slice of sourdough bread, preferably with fresh tomato, bell pepper and onion!

Enjoy your meal!🇭🇺

Tasty meal!🇸🇪
