Túrógombóc - sweet dumplings made from quark

A popular dessert in Hungarian cuisine is Túrógombóc - a fluffy, sweetened dumpling made from quark that is rolled in buttered breadcrumbs and served warm with custard or sour cream along with jam or compote. For example , apricot jam or pickled morels .

Túró is a type of creamy curd cheese that is widely used in Hungarian cuisine, both in dishes, as a filling in pancakes, or in desserts.

The breadcrumbs can be flavored with a pinch of ground cardamom or a pinch of ground cinnamon!

Ingredients:

500g Quark

2 Eggs

2 dl Semolina

1 pinch of salt

1 tbsp icing sugar

1 pinch vanilla powder

1 cup breadcrumbs

50g butter

Do this:

Whisk together the quark, eggs, semolina, salt, icing sugar and vanilla powder in a bowl. Leave to rest in the fridge for about 4 hours so that the curd swells. In the meantime, fry the breadcrumbs in butter until golden yellow and then drain on kitchen paper.

Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil. Shape the curd into about 12 balls with wet hands. Let the balls simmer in the water for about 5 minutes. Lift out with a slotted spoon and roll them directly in the breadcrumbs.

Dust with icing sugar and serve with whipped creme fraise, vanilla sauce or jam.

Enjoy your meal!🇭🇺

Tasty meal!🇸🇪
